A couple of leftover panels of American Elm, prepped and sanded from a previous project, were the raw material and inspiration for this small coffee table. As in our first Sketch table from a few weeks back, we took an improvisational approach to the design, cutting the panels into sections and curves and then rearranging them to form this sculptural shape. The beautiful color and grain of the Elm does most of the work here, highlighted by a simple hand applied wax finish.
