Offcut is a line of furniture and home goods created as an offshoot of a busy custom woodworking shop and its constantly growing collection of extra stuff.  Piles of beautiful hardwood cutoffs and scrap, semi finished furniture pieces, random cool odds and ends that collect in a shop over the years.

 

 

Out of this comes an ongoing series of products designed to use and showcase our otherwise underused extras.  Simple, functional designs made with high quality materials and craftsmanship. A constantly changing selection, new pieces released regularly depending on what we have to work with.

Offcut was launched in 2021 in the Chicago studio of Jason Lewis, engaged in a continuous practice of reusing wood scrap in creative and productive ways.  Since then (the first 4 years partnering with Chicago artist Lesley Jackson as co-designer & maker) we have produced over 100 original designs, creating an ongoing and ever evolving product catalog.

Come visit our Logan Square showroom to browse and purchase Offcut items in person. You can also check out furnishings by Jason Lewis and a small collection of other objects made by local artists also working with scrap materials.

Scrap Sales

 

We host semi-regular scrap sales where we give away lots of great hardwood scrap for next to nothing. Materials range from firewood kindling to table-top ready slabs.
