Check Lamp No 2. in ivory. Once again starting from a leftover chunk of 12x12" cedar, we cut the squares into rounds, highlighting the concentric grain lines & bringing them back full 'circle' to their original state as logs. The defects and larger checks (cracks or splits that happen in the timbers as a part of the drying process) were a structural issue that needed to be stabilized, so we took a step away from the typical butterfly key & used the opportunity to make the functional patches into colorful contrasting design elements.
