A recent project had us making up a run of 3" square solid white oak blanks to use for a large batch of table legs. Of course we had some leftovers. Using one longer section and gluing some smaller cutoffs in a grid at the bottom created this interesting stepped floor lamp assembly, the long upright seeming to grow right out of the middle of the base. The gray stain with white cerused wax finish gives the piece an elegant neutral tone, complemented with a simple white linen drum shade.
