OC49 Oiled cedar with painted plywood and exposed fasteners
13 x 16 x 29"
One of a kind
A chair made from a block, part two! A piece of solid 12x12" cedar timber provides the raw material, shape, and structure of this minimalist chair. Notched at the top with a chainsaw, the natural cedar is fitted with an angled plywood seat painted a glossy off-white for a nice juxtaposition of materials. A handhold at the top of the seat back makes it easier to move and use. This chair has a striking look and the simplest of lines, but is also surprisingly comfortable to sit in - a rare combo.
