We took these oak ones, cut them into smaller lengths, and reconfigured them into these geometric candle stands. for cutoff scrap lumber.  Here is one take on it, using some nice walnut pieces that were leftover trimmings from a live edge tabletop.  The circular shape is cut down the middle by the organic natural edge of the board, showing off the contrast between the rich brown heartwood and the pale stripe of sapwood.  A through hole allows the board to be wall hung for practicality or salvaged stair spindles that have been floating around the shop for years.  We loved the beautiful silhouette and textured material, and thought it would be a great opportunity to start introducing other found (in the shop) objects into Offcut designs.
